What’s in a Word

By Tim Scott Poma
They say Words can heal a nation,
Or destroy worlds without sensation.
As we baked them all in hate and segregation.
Allowed for destruction and alteration,
We accepted facts and got a lower education.
Lost in ideals of economic inflation,
Became Mr. Jones reason for separation.
So we let our aspirations,
Become victims of degradation.
As we let our words run dry no more exclamation.
Yet our hearts still beat without loves hydration,
For no Heart can ever grow without complication,
We must first know stress, struggle and then palpitation.
As words still fall out my mouth out of desperation,
Only to declare there is no more need for hate or hesitation!
When did we let the fear become our foundation?
As depredation of love came without hesitation.
I still say our words can heal a world, a people, a nation
As new loving hearts, bring light to truths for solidification.
We find structure in Devine love and our hearts formation,
Our Hearts and minds still tied in tapes red frustration
But the scissors like words will become cause for ignition
As our affection turns to rhythm and becomes amplification
As our words become the love that heals one world, one people, one nation.

I swiftly feel my heart start beat and bleed once again
As I wake from this emotionless slumber I have been in
In the wake of destruction I left behind a trail of tears
As I walked over hearts and crushed images I held so dear
Not intending to ever let you go but never wanting to hold on
I fumbled the key before I got to the door and you were gone
So I staggered back down the hallway drunk, to make amends
There you were I held you tightly and close to me like a body pillow
As you fit in my arms like all the leaves on a weeping willow
Now I’m the one leaving the trail of tears on my tear soaked pillow
For all the reason that remain unknown you began to billow
As I lie overexposed my nudity to nude to dress me with cloths
I still want this dream wrapped tightly in my arms once again
So that I can pretend at least for a while that we are still friends
But I see that your emotions have evaded the premises
Remaining now only cold that blows threw the open pain
The door is locked and the steel key quickly rust and turn to ash
Now there is no possibility or key to get you back
So I tie myself up in this tattered piece of paper hopping
To throw caution to the wind so that I can atone
For the man I have not been while harboring this heart of stone
In the morning you said the news was sad that day
And there was nothing good about it either way
So I kissed you good bye and left and walked away
Leaving me with the key to all my pain
But no word or reasons that you walked away

All Right

Its all going to be all right
No need for us to arm a fight
For we can burn them down with the love of life
When we get up in the morning and love this life

We won’t let them ever stand up in our way
We have to constantly out think there every play
They want us to fight that’s what they all say
But id rather wraps my arms around the light of day

For it’s Carpe diem when we dancing in the light
There is never darkness when your heart shines bright
So we link together and stand for what is right
For they are afraid of our loves contiguous bite

Because it is once bitten twice afraid
Of this potent touch that we will display
We finally drop this mask in this masquerade
And we march around with this love on parade

For every little thing going to be all right
That’s why the creator created love tonight
So we can all shine on and illuminate so bright
As we all ignite together in the consciousness of life

Time it slowly tiptoes away
As the flowers in the garden stay at bay
Growing more beautiful each and every sun shinny day
As the colors in the fields erupt in such a beautiful array

With each passing moment the flowers they stand
They reach to the sky with their beautiful petal-like hands
Not begging anything, only hoping to catch a passing glance
She goes on walking by not noticing the flower amongst the plants

Swiftly she walks pass all the flowers tucked amongst the grass
She is not distracted by the flower or beauty as she walks on pass
So she continually marches on with time tiptoeing away
Not listening to anything that the beautiful flowers have to say

Distracted by the manifestation of material today
She walks with her head in a clouded stunned by an array of gray
As she tramples over and around all the beauty along the way
The flowers only hope she will notice before it is there final day

Rolling Stones

A rolling stone can call anywhere his home
Because he loves to roll and he loves to roam
For he knows life is a rhyme composed of a poem
And the rhythm he loves because he can feel the tone
He truly knows, we are never ever not alone
When he rolls with the gravel underneath his shell of stone
For in human nature, we this rock are all prone
To miss behave and think that we are alone
But when rocks they roll we feel the passion
As He sit and watches while society crashes
He swerves to dodges all the media masses
But he rolls away because he brought a book of matches

They say I’m looking dapper
But I really feel depressed
Is there possibly anything
That will take this weight from my chest
They say honesty will always set you free
And that is why I constantly
Discus and debate all the things I hate
For in reality I am only what I make
That is why I say so solemnly
What have I done?
I worked so hard for other
And let my self become
Just another sheep walking around
With my ears and eyes only staring at the ground
But I say its time to turn it all around
Make a run for the hills and join back up with the crowd
Where were all together and we all scream real loud
Where were all together our love is more safe and sound
Then it could ever be when we were apart
Then it ever was when we saved it in our hearts
For this dapper feeling that’s got me feeling depressed
is nothing more then lack of love and a little bit of stress
So to this I detest any other random words
For the only thing I want to hear makes me feel absurd
And slightly mistaken for a little bit perturbed
Just say that you love me and there will be no more pain
Just say that you love me and we can still make the train
But when you don’t speak its my emotions that you drain
And that’s when I realize I don’t want to go it alone on this train

Home that’s where our heart is
Home that’s where we started
Home I long to go Home

It seems like so very long ago
We up rooted from the stars and we began to grow
Our Parents filled us in on what we think we know
Our heart leads the way and we begin the show

Home that’s where our heart is
Home that’s where we started
Home I long to go Home

Still Striving to connect to the spiritual unknown
Were digging up truths from the earth we call home
Looking and listening for words of the thrown
Our Life’s a journey we’re turning every stone

Home that’s where our heart is
Home that’s where we started
Home I long to go Home

Follow your dreams and manifest the known
I’m Singing to you from our far away home
Carefully listen to the words in my tone
Now Close your eyes and visualize our home

Home that’s where our heart is
Home that’s where we started
Home I long to go Home
